The Tolson Community Center together with the City of Elkhart envisioned a new premier community space rich with amenities and engaged METICULOUS to help design their dream. The new 30,000 sf, multi-cultural, multi-use center is designed with community top of mind in every aspect. Replacing an existing facility, this new center is twice the size, creating space for legacy activities as well as incorporating new opportunities for the citizenry to learn, grow, and play together.
The new Tolson Community Center for Excellence is viewed as the cornerstone for future economic investment in the area. The vision for the center is to make it the centerpiece of an enlivened south-central Elkhart, a premier destination for neighbors near and far and a pathway to equity and opportunity for all.
Housing two large gymnasiums, a multi-purpose cafeteria, an art room, a dance room, offices and gathering spaces, the Tolson Center is designed as a flexible and adaptable place for connections now and for the future.
