The new Martin Luther King Jr. Dream Center serves as a beacon of hope for the South Bend Community. METICULOUS is working with city leaders and project stakeholders to design a world-class, intergenerational community dream center inspiring hope for all in the heart of a vibrant, culturally rich area in South Bend.
Key considerations for the facility were developed through collaborative and comprehensive engagement with the community, capturing concerns, thoughts, wants, and needs that helped create the guiding principles of design. The guiding principles include Relevant and Impactful, Inclusive, Excellent, and Sustainable.
METICULOUS took into consideration over 700 individual pieces of community and stakeholder feedback about the future use of the center. The result is a flexible campus featuring fitness, recreation, wellness space, garden, playground space – all paying homage to its namesake, Dr. Martin Luther King throughout.
